Any undergraduate student currently enrolled in a B.Tech or equivalent program can apply. Students from all engineering branches are welcome. Prior experience is not necessary—selected candidates will receive comprehensive training in GenAI.

Interns will be simultaneously learning advanced skills and contributing to the creation of the Telugu LLM. You will receive comprehensive training in AI/ML Technology as well as Telugu Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) technology, which will be leveraged in the data collection phase. Once trained, you will engage in Telugu corpus collection to create an exhaustive resource for training and refining Telugu LLM. In this phase, you will: • Interview people in different regions of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh • Capture information in Telugu about their local history, practices, customs, folk tales, folk songs, food recipes, etc. After data collection, you will: • Participate in data validation • Complete smaller AI/ML assignments related to the project The program will feature: • Resourceful talks on Telugu culture, folklore, language technology, and AI/ML applications • Mini projects related to Telugu language and culture, incorporating AI/ML techniques, which you can showcase The program will conclude with: • Insightful talks from guest speakers and experts • A final presentation and evaluation
It is a multidimensional program that seeks to train the next generation of AI Engineers and give them hands-on training in real-world AI and LLM projects. With the support of top tech institutions, interns will be helping build India’s first Telugu LLM. The program has dual outcomes: • Advanced AI training • The chance to contribute to an innovation that seeks to preserve culture and advance language technology.
Aligning with AICTE’s guidelines, the program will be spread out over 4 weeks and carried out in multiple cohorts.
Yes, all participants who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate issued by Swecha in collaboration with IIIT Hyderabad and Meta.

The Summer of AI program is primarily remote, but select sessions and events may be held in-person depending on location.
